Canon Europe is offering an update to owners of the Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT. This update to (Ver.2) is a chargeable service to add extra features for greater control of compatible Canon Speedlite flashes (with compatible cameras), including the flagship Speedlite EL-1.

FE memory

Using the Flash Exposure (FE) memory feature1, the Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT(Ver.2) can store the last E-TTL flash shot settings, allowing the photographer to switch to Manual Flash mode, making minor adjustments around these settings as needed, for a quick, easy and consistent set up.

Micro flash

The Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT(Ver.2) allows a new low-power option down to 1/8192 sec1, allowing photographers further control of the flash output across 14 steps of range. This is ideal when a subtle amount of light is needed to maintain the ambience in scene or portrait, while balancing the exposure with low ambient lighting.

Wireless second curtain sync

The Speedlite Transmitter ST-E3-RT(Ver.2) now supports wireless second curtain sync1 when fired remotely, which opens up a number of creative options for greater artistic expression, such as trailing light.

Pricing

Upgrading your Speedlite ST-E3-RT to (Ver.2) is a chargeable service and can only be done at an Canon Professional Service Centre.
