S/IASE S is ideal for broadcast newsgathering. Meeting the exacting
performance demands of HDTV acquisition, it provides improved
optical performance, intuitive design, and a reduced size.
Outstanding imaging
The lens inherits decades of expertise in optical design. Both
peripheral resolution and uniformity of brightness are
significantly enhanced, resulting in sharp, bright images, from the
centre to the corners.
An excellent MTF profile over the entire image plane, minimisation
of chromatic aberrations, and maximisation of contrast support help
provide stunning imagery, whilst a maximum aperture of f/1.8 makes
this lens eminently suited to low-light applications such as ENG
work.
A variety of optical and mechanical innovations including
proprietary lens coatings, substantially reduce flare, glare, and
internal reflection. Minimisation of ghosting and other chromatic
distortions caused by strong light sources further extend the
operational contrast range.

A new digital drive unit employs 16-bit optical rotary encoders to
ensure responsive, precise, repeatable user operation. Start-up is
fast, with multiple types of image compensation - including lens
and chromatic aberration - supported.
The drive unit is compatible with existing zoom and focus demands,
whilst virtual studio integration is enhanced thanks to precise
16-bit encoder output.
